First year seedlings of the amazing Grainger shagbark hickory. The seeds were collected from a 75 year old stand of grafted hickory trees. So not only is this variety excellent but it was also pollinated with another improved variety of hickory. The nuts are very large for a shagbark and the flavor is superior to just about any other nut. The nut meats crack out in either quarters or complete halves! The trees are beautiful and well anchored to the ground. They have an amazing fall color and the wood is as hard and durable as any in temperate climates.
Shipped bare root at around 8" in height with a large root system.
