Hinnomaki red goosberry produces a super sweet fruit with a tart skin. Really refreshing to eat fresh but can also be processed into jam, juice, etc. The thorny stems make it a fairly deer resistant shrub. Can also be planted in part sun conditions and still produce a large crop, unlike most fruiting shrubs.
